Free Health Screening for Parishioners

Health Education Series

Mercy Parish Nursing is offering a free health screening for parishioners at St. Joseph Church. This is an excellent opportunity for you to get to know “your numbers.” In order for you to take control of your health, you should know your cholesterol, glucose, and blood pressure. Mercy Health Ministry is offering this free blood screening which will allow you to know your numbers and take control of your health. The more you know about your health, the more empowered you will be to take care of yourself!

More About the Parish Health & Wellness Ministry

Mission: To promote better overall health programming and to provide healthcare screenings for blood pressure and coordinate blood donations.

Talents Needed: A general health care background.

Time Donation: Low – each volunteer to work about one hour per month after the weekend Masses when scheduled. Need eight hours of volunteers per month.

Vision for the Future: Attract ten more volunteers. Would like to have a registry of parishioners who are in the health profession. Would like to offer monthly blood pressure screenings and begin blood sugar and cholesterol screenings. Need a co-chairperson willing to help oversee and donate adequate time to ensure a successful program.
