Confirmation/Pre-Baptism Ministry

CONFIRMATION

Mission: To help our parish youth — beginning in grade 7 with Confirmation taking place in grade 8 — prepare for life as Catholics in today’s world. While diving into the rites of the Sacrament of Confirmation, the goal is to help them to recognize the movement of the Holy Spirit in their lives. While certain components do use volunteers, the Confirmation preparation team is made up of parish staff members, who challenge our youth, to be Disciples of Christ, and go make a difference in our world through service, and participation in parish life, all while helping them adopt stewardship as a way of life. More information on this and other sacramental preparation programs can be found on the parish website.

Time: Varies based on program needs.

PRE-BAPTISM FORMATION FOR NEW PARENTS AND GODPARENTS

Mission: The Sacrament of Baptism is the foundation of Christian Life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other Sacraments. The Pre-Baptism Preparation Team seeks volunteers to assist in facilitating classes that help parents and godparents prepare for their children’s reception of this holy sacrament. Parents are required to attend classes.

Talent: The desire to assist parents in the formation process prior to baptism.

Time: Classes are held quarterly for one and a half hours.
